Sr Sales System Engineer

Role Overview: The Sr Sales Engineers are pre-sales, trusted technical advisors that work in close partnership with account teams (end-user or channel). Sales Engineers own account or specialty technical strategy, depending upon assignment. Sales Engineer define, analyze, and present solutions to end-user data management problems, evangelize their solution at an early stage, and technically enable and validate channel partners. All SEs collaborate closely with account teams to technically close deals and achieve their new bookings goal, as well as Product Management to ensure our solutions align with market/customer needs.
Responsibilities:
* Develop plan to achieve objectives and new bookings quota
Provides a level of technical expertise and technical closure for a specific solution within an assigned accounts
* Help customers define their technical problems and architect solutions for information security and\or information management
* Build relationships with tech influencers
* Drive Larger deal technical closure
* Provides input on product direction
* Maintain product/solution expertise of market trends in aligned technology including detailed understanding of the competition
* Technical briefings for solutions and products for external and internal customers/partners when required
* Maintaining key relationships/contacts within internal and external customers and partners
May technically mentor others Sales Engineers
Skills & Knowledge:
* Proven track record of building and maintaining excellent customer relationships with both technical and business stakeholders
* Ability to map Veritas' offerings against customer needs and to identify new opportunities within the customers
* Consistent proven achievement against goals or targets
* Understands the importance of driving the technical sales life cycle
* Ensures operating within compliance from a process, legal and revenue recognition
Required Experience & Qualifications:
* Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related areas
* External qualification/industry certification in SNIA, ITIL, SANS GIAC, Cloud, OpenStack is desirable
* Comes from an IT background working within a world class software organization covering IT Infrastructure, Datacenter technology
* In depth knowledge and/or experience of the industry sector the aligned customers reside in e.g. Telecommunications, Financial Services, Public Sector, Services\Cloud Providers or Data Providers
* Solid experience in Sales Engineering (Consulting Services)
