About the job: We are looking for people who are passionate about building robust, scalable, real-time and distributed systems. We want people who have ownership and do not settle for anything that is not incredible!We deal with challenging situations on a daily basis and our job is to address them through data analysis, machine learning and technology applied on safety.You will be part of a team which primary concern is about safety for passenger and drivers. We are working very hard to prevent robbery, discrimination, harassment and any kind of physical or psychological violence. You will be handling any bugs, provide workarounds, and escalate unresolved issues to the development team. Your work is key to the success of making transportation better to everyone. This position requires strong multi-disciplinar technical skills and result-driven approach.
Your Responsibilities: Be adaptive and productive working on different projects, languages;Learn and develop and improve systems, be critical and straightforward, data-drivenness is a must.Develop and maintain systems, jobs, scripts using Java, Python and eventually Scala;Collaborate with enterprise architecture, solutions architecture;Implement challenging parts of the Didi's safety ecosystem.
What we're looking for: Result oriented and data driven mindsetDesirable 6+ years of software development experience with solid knowledge of large scale systems using Java/Scala;Experience building and scaling complex high-performance, high-transaction applications;Must have excellent technical understanding of client server fundamentals and enterprise architecture patterns, not only REST;Must have technical understanding of different databases and its uses (MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Cassandra); Knowledge in cloud native solutions - AWS (ex: EC2, Beanstalk, SQS, SNS, Load Balancer, RDS, Dynamo);Knowledge and preferably experience with Big Data infrastructure, such as Hadoop, SparkKnowledge and preferably experience with the reactive programming paradigm, streaming systems, etc.Solid Java or Scala programming skills;Solid test oriented approaches to solve business problems.
Plus: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems (IS), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university;Have been tested other protocols than HTTP - Thrift, MQTT …;Proficiency with PythonMachine Learning experience (e.g Spark MLLib)Interested in math, statistics, algorithms.
