Facebook seeks a Policy Communications Manager to help drive creative and strategic communications for Facebook’s policy, privacy, content and security efforts in Brazil. A successful candidate will not only have the skills and experience to execute effective communications but also be able to build substantive programs and relationships with the media and influencers, while supporting the communications team in Brazil. Candidates should be excellent writers, with strong experience in developing and executing high-profile campaigns and communication strategies in technology or other fast moving sectors as well as managing press relations and handling corporate or political issues. The role requires managing proactive communications, from strategy to messaging to execution. This position is full–time and is located in Facebook’s Sao Paulo office.
Develop and execute proactive communications strategies and initiatives
Interface and consult regularly with teams across the company
Drive positive coverage that reaches influencers important to the company
Act as a company spokesperson to help educate the media and influencers on Facebook's policies and programs.
Minimum bachelors degree (post-graduate or professional degrees a plus)
10 + years professional experience, internet technology communications preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, high-growth, international environment
Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully
Experience in managing issues and crisis communications
Thorough understanding of the Brazilian media and political landscape
