Monsanto South America R&D IT team works directly with Monsanto scientists to develop and maintain IT software platforms which enable cutting edge research and development efforts. Candidates with a strong background in science and PC proficient are highly desired for this position. Approved candidate will join the field of IT systems informatics leveraging their scientific training to play a key role in defining and delivering breakthrough science in high throughput R&D platforms for Monsanto.
This position is responsible for designing, deploying and supporting enterprise-level software systems developed for R&D. Responsibilities include software requirements gathering, deployment, training, user adoption, user support and troubleshooting post deployment, issue tracking and software documentation, as well as coordination of a few local software development as prioritized with global IT and business teams. This position has liaison responsibilities with each IT application's product project team.
BS in Biology, Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Chemistry or comparable work experience in Agriculture/Biotechnology
PC Proficient-a strong working knowledge of Excel, Access and other Microsoft software
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
Self starter and be able to work alone or as a part of a team
MS or PhD in Biology or Plant Sciences
Experience with agricultural research and/or business
Experience with project management and software development
